흡입 분만기로 흡입 분만한다
태아의 두부가 산도 속 높게 있으면서 산도 밖을 향해 잘 내려오지 않을 때 흡입 분만기를 이용해서 분만할 수 있다.
이럴 때 분만부는 진통의 리듬에 맞춰 아기의 머리를 산도 속 바깥을 향해 밀어내고 태아의 두피(頭皮)에다 흡입분만기 흡입컵을 부착시켜 태아를 산도 속 밖으로 끌어내어 분만을 빨리 시키는 방법을 흡입분만이라고 한다.
흡입 분만으로 분만할 때는 회음부 손상이 겸자로 분만할 때보다 덜 생기는 것이 보통이다.

When the head of the fetus is high in the birth canal and does not come down well outside the birth canal, it can be delivered using an inhalation delivery machine. In this case, the delivery department pushes the baby’s head to the outside of the birth canal in accordance with the rhythm of pain, and attaches a suction cup to the fetus’s scalp to pull the fetus out of the birth canal to speed delivery.
