Postpartum abdominal pain 훗배 (산후 진통)
The height of the uterus returned to its normal position after delivery
During the first few days after childbirth, the mother’s belly is called the same as that of a pregnant woman who is about 5-6 months pregnant.
When pregnancy reaches full term, the weight of the uterus alone is about 900g, and around 6 weeks after delivery, the weight of the uterus is about 120g. After giving birth, it is common for the uterus to contract gradually and return to the state it was in before pregnancy.
When the uterus gradually contracts little by little, the stomach can hurt a little. After childbirth, the uterus bleeds little by little, the blood coagulates, and the uterus contracts to discharge the blood clot out of the uterine cavity, and then juniors may develop.
For some time after that, the blood clot no longer comes out of the uterine cavity. However, the uterus can contract little by little, and juniors can develop.
This abdominal pain after delivery is called junior or postpartum pain.
The nursing mother’s uterus normally contracts a little more strongly and the degree of postpartum pain may be more severe.
But sooner, the uterus will recover to its original state. The degree of postpartum pain varies depending on the mother.
It is almost the same as menstrual pain that usually occurs during menstruation. In general, the degree of juniors that occurs in a woman who has given birth is usually less than that of the juniors that occur after giving birth to her second or third baby.
