Stereotactic Posture Stations
Orientation posture a-sciatic plane, b-sciatic pole, c-iliac crest, d-fetal head Source-Ross Lab, Columbus. Ohio. USA The positional relationship between the left and right sciatic poles of the pelvic cavity of the delivery part and the body part of the fetus that first came into the birth canal during delivery is called the stereotactic posture.
Knowing how well your posture is, you can tell how much the delivery has progressed.
Therefore, it is common for doctors to visit the child to find out the degree of postural posture during childbirth.
In this figure, the degree of the standing posture is marked from -5 to +5. In this picture, the head of the fetus has almost descended to +1 in the normal position.
The fetus is in a normal position between 0 and +1. Copyright ⓒ 2014 John Sangwon Lee, MD, FAAP
