Pregnancy and job 임신과 직장
- These days, many women continue to work even after marriage.
After pregnancy, you have to decide whether to continue your work life or not, depending on your economy, lifestyle, family circumstances, and type of work. If your job life seems to be harmful to the health of a pregnant woman or fetus, you should quit your job soon after you become pregnant.
In particular, heavy objects must be lifted and lowered, moved, and labor must be performed that requires a lot of strength, or dealing with organic and inorganic chemicals or toxic gases, dust, vapors, or radiation that are harmful to the pregnant woman and the fetus.
When it comes a time, you should ask your doctor if you can continue working. Also, if you are diagnosed with a pregnancy, you should notify your boss at work that you are pregnant, and ask if it is okay to continue working after you become pregnant. If what you did before pregnancy is not dangerous and harmless to the pregnant woman or the fetus, you can continue working after pregnancy.
If you have diabetes or other acute chronic illness or pregnancy complications during pregnancy, you should ask your doctor if you can continue what you were doing.
There are no complications of pregnancy, and a healthy pregnant woman can continue to work until birth in the workplace where there is no harm to herself and her baby. If the job life during pregnancy is harmful to the pregnant woman or the fetus, they can move to another job that does not harm the pregnant woman.
If you plan to become pregnant for a long time and want to work at work, you should seek a job that does not harm the pregnant woman or the fetus.
Also, when you go for regular pregnancy checkups, you should ask your doctor if it is okay to continue your work life. Copyright ⓒ 2014 John Sangwon Lee, MD., FAAP
