Discomfort in urination and urinary incontinence after childbirth 분만 후 소변볼 때 불편과 요실금증
Most of the mothers who have given birth naturally do not have any abnormalities in seeing the stool normally after childbirth.
However, it may be uncomfortable to urinate after delivery after receiving general anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, local vulvar anesthesia, or perineal incision. It is normal to urinate at least once within 6 to 8 hours after delivery.
If you have trouble urinating after childbirth, or if your belly or vulva hurts when you urinate, you should contact your doctor or nurse right away.
Postpartum urine is full in your bladder, but you may not be able to urinate properly. In this case, you should contact your doctor right away.
If for some reason urine is filled in the bladder and you cannot urinate normally, you must defecate the urine with a catheter and receive appropriate diagnostic treatment.
If you are unable to urinate normally, or if your external genitalia hurts when you urinate, check for a urinary tract infection and seek diagnostic treatment. In the case of pregnant women who have delivered before delivery, the pelvic floor muscles are weak, which can cause urinary incontinence.
Women who do not have problems with the pelvic floor muscles can develop urinary incontinence during the weeks or months after childbirth.
Other stressful incontinence can also occur.
Urinary incontinence may persist for one year after delivery. A woman with urinary incontinence can urinate when she laughs, coughs, or picks up something.
Sometimes it feels like the bladder is full of urine, and it feels like you need to urinate right away, and when it comes out, you can’t hold up to urinate at will.
After getting a doctor’s diagnosis, you can do a pelvic floor exercise to treat it and use a sanitary pad. Copyright ⓒ 2014 John Sangwon Lee, MD., FAAP
