Diaphragm and spermicide jelly 다이아프램과 살정젤리
Before inserting the diaphragm into the cervix, apply spermicide to the inside of the diaphragm.
The diaphragm is a type of contraceptive device that is formed in the shape of a half moon and is made of rubber.
The cervix is located at the top of the vaginal cavity. When a diaphragm is placed on the part of the cervix that protrudes into the vaginal cavity, the sperm ejaculated in the vaginal cavity cannot pass through the outer opening of the cervix in the cervix and enter the uterus, so it is a contraceptive.
Because the size and shape of the cervix are slightly different for each woman when placing a diaphragm on the cervix, select a diaphragm suitable for the size and shape of each woman’s cervix and place it on the cervix.
So, at first, it is covered at the hospital.
Depending on the size and shape of a woman’s cervix, the size and shape of the diaphragm also vary.
When the diaphragm is used for contraception, first undergo seismic examination, and then a diaphragm that fits the size and shape of the cervix is selected and covered.
It is recommended to change to a diaphragm of a different size after delivery, after a miscarriage, or after surgery to treat any organ in the vagina or pelvic cavity. In particular, the size and shape of the cervix may change little by little after delivery and before delivery. Therefore, when using a diaphragm after delivery, it is better to wait for the uterus to fully recover after delivery, and then select the dynamometer again according to the change. In particular, after delivery due to difficult birth, you must wait until the cervix is fully recovered, and then contracept it with a diaphragm.
For this reason, after childbirth, the size and shape of the cervix are examined by seismic examination, and the diaphragm is used for contraception.
In general, in a hospital, a doctor puts the diaphragm on the vaginal cervix of the cervix and removes it, and before going home, the woman herself should practice putting on and removing the diaphragm several times.
After she has made sure that the woman herself knows how to put and remove the diaphragm with confidence, she must be contracepted with a diaphragm. When she intercourse, neither the woman herself wearing the diaphragm nor the other man feels that the diaphragm is placed on the vaginal cervix of the cervix, nor does it interfere with intercourse.
She may be able to contracept only with a diaphragm, but there is a high probability that her contraception will fail.
Therefore, as shown in the figure, if you apply spermicide jelly or spermicide cream such as Koromex on the inside of the diaphragm and then cover the diaphragm on the vaginal cervix of the cervix as shown in the figure, the contraceptive effect is quite good.

A diaphragm can be placed right before intercourse, but if possible, it is advisable to apply a diaphragm shortly before intercourse.
The diaphragm that was covered may come out naturally. Particularly when a woman has sexual intercourse in the upper part, it may escape during intercourse. Wait at least 8 hours after having sex before removing the diaphragm.
And it shouldn’t be put on for more than 24 hours after putting it on.
Diaphragms are usually made of rubber, so if you are allergic to rubber or to latex, you may be allergic to diaphragms. There are also cases of toxic shock syndrome when diaphragm contraception occurs. Copyright ⓒ 2014 John Sangwon Lee, MD., FAAP
