Older woman pregnancy 고령 여성 임신
When a woman aged 35 years or older becomes pregnant for the first time, it is said to be an elderly pregnancy (I think it would be better to use another word here than the word elderly, but I will use this word first).
When a woman aged 35 years or older becomes pregnant for the first time, she can consume balanced drinking water that is good for her baby and her own health during her pregnancy, exercise regularly and work more consciously to avoid exposure to harmful substances.
However, she is slightly more likely to deliver a baby with a chromosomal abnormality, is more likely to develop gestational diabetes, a little more likely to develop high blood pressure from pregnancy, and a little more likely to develop pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia.
For these and other reasons, if you become pregnant at old age,
it is common to do more frequent pregnancy check-ups during pregnancy, and clinical tests such as blood glucose tolerance tests can be performed.
Amniotic fluid tests are sometimes done to see if a baby with Down’s syndrome is pregnant, an ultrasound test, a pregnant woman’s serum alpha-fetoprotein test (pregnancy serum alpha-fetoprotein test), and a chorionic villi test are sometimes done more often as needed. In addition, it is possible to test the nape of the neck (Nuchal translucency) and the triple screen test.
The first time a woman over 35 years of age is pregnant, the probability of conceiving a baby with Down syndrome is 1/350. Copyright ⓒ 2014 John Sangwon Lee, MD., FAAP
